The Product

Authentic heritage era moquette now available by the metre for upholstery and handicraft projects large and small.  Comes as a custom cut piece directly from the roll, your chosen size in length and 1.27 metres in width. All our moquettes have been faithfully and accurately recreated from clean, non-faded samples of original fabric and archive documentation, and are manufactured using authentic techniques.

Our moquettes are primarily made for use in the restoration of rolling stock at the nation's heritage steam railways, and as such this cloth is finished by hand to comply with all UK Railway Safety, Durability and Flammability requirements.  It is therefore an extremely hard-wearing material with great stain-resistance properties.  This cloth is the real deal and we guarantee you will not be disappointed.

The Pattern - Birds of Paradise

A Southern Railway design dating back to the 1930s, this opulent pattern was originally produced in a number of configurations of lighter and darker background green, as well as cut and loop pile, and featured in many 1st Class compartment and Dining Saloons.

Our current stock of this pattern comprises the darker variety in cut pile. Featuring a beautifully dark green background with a colourful tropical-bird motif on top, this particular combination still conveys the luxury feel it was designed to suggest almost 100 years ago.

Delivery

All by-the-metre orders are cut to order and shipped using a tracked 48hr courier. Small orders are sent boxed whilst larger orders are sent on a roll. We take our environmental impact seriously and try to reduce packaging materials wherever possible. We only use plastic packaging materials where absolutely necessary and we are constantly looking for new ways to make all transactions as carbon-light as possible.
