About Us

Our history and raison d’être

It's our heritage...

Founded in 2012 as Torrington Coastal Restorations Ltd to aid the heritage transport preservation movement in obtaining authentic, era moquette, we soon started receiving a steady stream of enquiries for short lengths of our fabrics for domestic upholstery projects.

The introduction of a short-orders department meant that we could start servicing these requests as demand continued to grow, whilst early experiments in manufacturing ‘artifacts’ from our moquettes proved popular.

Ultimately it became obvious that this aspect of our operation deserved as much focus and attention as our primary business, so a sister brand, Days of Steam, was launched to service this exciting sector, and the rest is still history in the making.

As a distinct entity, Days of Steam Ltd offers our authentic moquette fabrics by the metre, as well as a growing catalogue of moquette-based products and other era-authentic items and gifts.
