The Product

Part of our range of home furnishings made from our own line of heritage moquettes, this 40cm cushion features a hidden zip and a plush insert. The moquette itself is designed and manufactured for use in passenger transport applications and is therefore extremely durable and has great stain resistance properties. By its nature, moquette is a heavy fabric with a wonderfully tactile texture that has to be felt to be believed. Choose from a duck feather or synthetic insert and this delightfully characterful cushion will add sparkle to your sofa or cheer to your chair.

The Pattern - Boomerang

First introduced in 1951, this pattern is one of the 'Festival of Britain' group of designs, commissioned for the new range of British Railways Standard coaches (later known as the Mark 1 Fleet). A mock-up of two compartments, one first class and one third class, was constructed and displayed at the Festival Exhibition site on the South Bank near Waterloo Station. These mock-ups, one of which features Horse Chestnut Leaf, and the other Boomerang, still exist in the National Railway Museum collection to this day.

Featuring a red and white chevron motif with boomerang shaped highlights and closely alternating stripes of loop and cut pile, this warm and inviting design just shouts of corporeal comfort.
