The Product

Authentic heritage era moquette now available by the metre for upholstery and handicraft projects large and small.  Comes as a custom cut piece directly from the roll, your chosen size in length and 1.27 metres in width. All our moquettes have been faithfully and accurately recreated from clean, non-faded samples of original fabric and archive documentation, and are manufactured using authentic techniques.

Our moquettes are primarily made for use in the restoration of rolling stock at the nation's heritage steam railways, and as such this cloth is finished by hand to comply with all UK Railway Safety, Durability and Flammability requirements.  It is therefore an extremely hard-wearing material with great stain-resistance properties.  This cloth is the real deal and we guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Please Note:  Unlike most of our other moquettes, the pattern on this design is oriented with the top of the motif pointing along the length of the roll rather than along the width of the roll.  The second image in this design’s gallery shows what it looks like as it comes off the roll.

The Pattern - English Rose

Following the post-war austerity period, increasing national prosperity led to greater demand for all forms of transport. This fabric design was introduced in the early 1950's, appearing in the new generation of underfloor-engined coaches which were rapidly replacing the old-fashioned half-cab vehicles of the pre-war era.

Our current stock of this fabric is based on a clean sample retrieved from a Harrington-bodied 1952 Leyland Royal Tiger in 2010. A cheerfully colourful pattern that looks wonderful in a domestic setting.

Delivery

All by-the-metre orders are cut to order and shipped using a tracked 48hr courier. Small orders are sent boxed whilst larger orders are sent on a roll. We take our environmental impact seriously and try to reduce packaging materials wherever possible. We only use plastic packaging materials where absolutely necessary and we are constantly looking for new ways to make all transactions as carbon-light as possible.
